Who can participate?
Study participants will include a diverse group of men ages 40 to 79, who were diagnosed with low risk prostate cancer within the past 6-8 months in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What does participation involve?
We will ask you to complete 2 surveys—one now and one approximately 9-12 months from now. The survey questions will ask you about your feelings regarding the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, factors that were important to you when thinking about treatment, people who may have helped you make decisions, and your quality of life.
Where will the surveys be conducted?
The surveys may be completed through a secure online survey link that is emailed to you. If you prefer, you may complete the surveys over the telephone or on a paper version we mail to you.
Why should I participate?
Your input matters! You can help doctors understand how best to advise patients regarding their prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment.
You will receive a $60 gift card for the first survey and $40 gift cards each for the second survey to thank you for your contribution.
